The Africa Social Enterprise Forum gathers the world's preeminent thought leaders and innovators in the African development space to inspire, engage and enrage these social change-makers to action.

This is not a talking shop.  A direct response to the question,
Are the Only Innovations in Social Entrepreneurship Anglo-Saxon?, the Africa Social Enterprise Forum highlights the best world class solutions to African problems.  We challenge social innovators in the space to consider solutions from local stakeholders on the ground, to question the dearth of sustainable African models in popular literature and media and as Pliny the Elder reminds us, to expect always from Africa, something new.

The Africa Social Enterprise Forum will gather at least US$4 Billion social investment capital, over 200 delegates and senior executives from leading social entrepreneurship organizations such as the Rockefeller Foundation, Endeavor, Vision Spring and Social Private Equity South Africa.  Our morning keynote will be delivered by Craig Newmark, the Founder and creative force behind what the LA Times describes as a social phenomenon-Craigslist.  Craiglist's approach to using the internet as a tool for social change and direct democracy has many applications for Africa, where mobile technology and increasingly online media, are revolutionizing economic development and political discourse.
Pop!Tech Curator and Z + Partners Founder Andrew Zolli will deliver the afternoon keynote.  Under Andrew's leadership, Pop!Tech has been at the helm of innovative technological applications.  In South Africa, Pop!Tech launched Project Masiluleke, which delivers HIV/AIDS education through SMS Text.

REGISTER IN PERSON Saturday September 26, 2009. Online Registration Closed Friday 25, 2009.
